My name is Mrs Jennings.
Since graduating as a teacher in 1995, I have held different roles in both the education and training sectors. I have taught in Middle, Junior, Primary and Nursery schools across Surrey, Oxfordshire and London. Through my work with all age groups- from babies to adults - I have discovered my true passion is Early Years. When I'm not at school, I like spending time with my teenage children and enjoy country walks and trips to the theatre. |

Phonics is taught daily in groups, working on a specific set of sounds according to the ability of the child. Each session has a distinct structure following Read Write Inc (RWI). The children take home a RWI book each week to re-read and develop fluency.

Our Book Focus Eagles’ key project texts this term are ‘Lila and the Secret of Rain’ by David Conway and ‘To Carnival! A celebration in Saint Lucia’ by Baptiste Paul. We will also be using ‘A Year Full of Celebrations and Festivals’ by Christopher Corr. Our daily class story time, sharing both fiction and non-fiction books, will enable the class to encounter different festivals, stories set in different countries alongside poetry. |
