My name is Mrs Jennings.
Since graduating as a teacher in 1995, I have held different roles in both the education and training sectors. I have taught in Middle, Junior, Primary and Nursery schools across Surrey, Oxfordshire and London. Through my work with all age groups - from babies to adults - I have discovered my true passion is Early Years. When I'm not at school, I like spending time with my teenage children and enjoy country walks and trips to the theatre. |

Phonics is taught daily in groups, working on a specific set of sounds according to the ability of the child. Each session has a distinct structure following Read Write Inc (RWI). The children take home sound cards, Ditty sheets or a RWI book each week to re-read and develop fluency.

Our Book Focus Our key texts this term are related to our "Toys and Games" project. Reception will explore 'The Sea Saw' by Tom Percival. We will write in role, create advice notes, missing posters and letters of thanks. Then conclude the term with our own lost toy narrative, Year 1 will be exploring "Please Mrs Butler" and Yoto Carnegie award winning books with Mrs Ruffle . In our Early Reading Enrichment the whole class will be investigating other lost toy stories, including Dogger and Knuffle Bunny. Our daily story time will enable the class to encounter stories and factual texts linked to Judaism as well as toys and games. |
