VE Day

We listened to 1940s songs whilst we learned about VE Day celebrations that were held on 8th May 1945. We looked at old photographs to identify bunting and flags from VE Day street parties and also noticed the paper party hats. We designed ‘traditional’ bunting on paper to commemorate either VE Day or May Day and then ready, for our End of Term Revels, Year 1 children wove bunting using card board, wool and scraps of material whilst Reception learned how to loop and tie rags to create different bunting. Some of us then made our own newspaper party hats!
