Connecting with Nature

As our book hook to “The Extraordinary Gardener’, and to help us to connect with and experience nature, Reception used our senses to explore our school grounds. We stomped through mud, stroked and hugged trees, lay down on the grass with our eyes closed and collected different ‘interesting’ natural objects. We shared with each other how things felt, smelt and sounded then recorded our individual ideas using sketches and words.
