Christian Christmas Traditions

12/15/2025

We explored Christian Christmas traditions and the meaning behind them. We each chose an envelope and justified whether its enclosed card illustrated the Christian or commercial side of Christmas. We investigated advent calendars, candles, advent wreaths, fairy lights and door wreaths as well as church services, nativity sets and nativity plays. We discovered wreath’s circular shape symbolises that there is no end to God’s love and the evergreen foliage of Christmas Eve trees and wreaths is seen, by some, to represent eternity. We recognised lights symbolise both the nativity star and also Jesus as the light of the world. We sang some Christmas carols and then made a Christian christmas tree decoration for our own homes to remind us of incarnation.
