Caribean Carnival!

To launch our 2nd key text “To carnival - a celebration in St Lucia” we listened and responded to different Caribbean music styles - reggae, calypso and steel pan drums. We identified the instruments and how the pieces made us feel. We discussed the differences in pitch, dynamics, tempo and pulse in Bob Marley’s “Three little birds”, Roaring Lions’ Mary Ann and the Pan Steel Orchestra. We responded to the music in different ways - singing, dancing and some of us even improvised our own instruments!
